Once again summer is here!! It is a time to relax and have fun with your friends and family. With the temperature rising everywhere, many people are there who dread the heat. The heat forces many people to get trapped in their homes for several days. Especially for those people who live in extremely hot places; adjusting to the summer heat is going to be even more of a challenge for them. This season comes with a lot of problems including viral infection, hypertension, dehydration, sunstroke, depression, low blood pressure, etc. But weather is something that you cannot change so you have to deal with the heat in a smart way. Include onion in your diet

Onion is one of the best home remedies for the summer. You can just eat a raw onion a day in the salad. It will protect you against the heat strokes. It will also protect you against the sun, if you have a sensitive skin.


Eat raw mangoes

Raw mangoes are rich source of pectin. They protect you from negative effects of hot temperature. Heat stroke leads to extreme exhaustion and weakness, which can be treated with raw mango drink. Drinking the juice of raw mangoes helps in preventing from extreme loss of sodium chloride. You may also consume raw mango sprinkled with salt; it will quench your thirst. You can even have raw mango chutney with your meal.

Fenugreek water

Fenugreek is also an excellent home remedy for summers. Soak the dried fenugreek leaves in water. When the leaves get soaked well, crush the leaves and drink the water. This water will prevent you from heat strokes.

Lemon juice with honey

Lemon juice with honey is a very healthy option, when it comes to refresh the body after an extremely hot day. Lemon juice is very nutritious and does not contain harmful synthetic flavors. It is therefore advised to consume lemon juice in summer months. This drink is a healthy option to cool down during the hot temperatures.

Buttermilk

Buttermilk cools the body and protects it from sun stroke. During the summer season, the water is released out of the body in the form of sweat and hence we feel thirsty. Consuming buttermilk at that stage controls the thirst and also protects the body from the problem of dehydration. Buttermilk is the best medicine to control vomiting during summer season.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is well known as an ingredient of the skin creams, sunscreens and balms. It has some unique properties that help soothe skin in summer. It also provides nutrients to the skin. If you apply aloe vera to your skin in its purest form, then you will be helping yourself to get the best possible chance of a sunburn free summer and a long lasting tan.

Excess of water

In summer, drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated. Try to drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water everyday. Drinking does not mean that you can only drink water, but some time when you are tired you can add glucose in the water. You should also have lots of homemade summer drinks to refresh yourself and keep hydrated enough to beat the heat.

Fresh fruits

Fresh fruits are the best for nutrition in the hot weather. Especially fruits like watermelon and muskmelon have a high content of water in them, so you should eat them as much as possible during this season. But remember always that cut the fruits when you have to eat them as fruits which are kept cut lose some of their nutritional values.

Follow a diet chart

Drink 2 glasses of water at 7 o'clock in the morning. Take a light breakfast with cold milk at 8 am. In the lunch, you can have chapatti, pulses, rice and vegetables with salad and curd. At 4 o'clock in the afternoon, eat a fruit with green tea or lemon juice. In the dinner, take a light meal with less oil and spices. It is an example of a good diet chart; you can also plan a similar diet chart for yourself.

I've followed some of these tips this summer and they were really useful, not only that I stayed fit, but I also lost some of my extra pounds. Also, I've took some Toronto martial arts classes, because I've always wanted to learn how to defend myself. :D It was a great summer and I've learned so many useful things about what I must do in order to stay fit and healthy.
